Wwise middleware includes McDSP plug-ins

Game audio development tool upgraded
Audiokinetic's Wwise software is described as computer game development 'middleware', allowing sound designers to work in an environment they will find more familiar than screen after screen of low-level code! It has recetly been updated to v2009.3, and includes the option of two McDSP plug-ins. Designers can attach their sounds to in-game events and environments, as well as automate audible articulations and effects. The software also simplifies the export of a single project for multiple consoles, such as Microsoft's Xbox 360, Nintedo's Wii, and Sony's Playstation 3, as well as PC- and Mac-based games.

McDSP have teamed with Audiokinetic to include two of their plug-ins as an option in Wwise v2009.3, the ML1 brickwall limiter, and the FutzBox distortion and speaker simulation. The effects will not only be available when rendering sounds, but also as real-time effects for some game engines running on compatible consoles. Wwise is free to download for those looking to learn the environment or create a non-commercial project, with licenses for full-scale development varying greatly depending on the features selected.
