Yellowtec have announced the launch of a third addition to their series of desktop mixers, the Intellimix NEO. Sitting between the FOCUS and PRO models, the eight-channel system offers many of the benefits of the PRO, but without built-in X64 AoIP (Audio Over IP) connectivity.
Desktop Controller
As with the other models in the range, the Intellimix NEO pairs a compact desktop control surface with a rackmount unit that handles all of the system’s processing and I/O. Rather than physical faders, the surface is kitted out with four of Yellowtec’s 120mm G-Touch faders, with two layers providing access to the system’s eight channels. A colour display provides a detailed view of each channel’s parameters along with a master section that’s dedicated to global settings and volume information. Every channel benefits from a comprehensive set of processors including a fully parametric EQ, compressor, limiter, noise gate, de-esser and expander.
Base Unit
All of the system’s processing is carried out by the accompanying NEO Base Unit, which also houses an array of socketry that provides all of Intellimix NEO’s analogue and digital connectivity. A pair of mic/line-level inputs are provided by four XLR sockets, while an additional pair of line-level inputs are present on RCA connectors; four analogue line-level outputs are taken care of by two XLRs and two RCA sockets. The rest of the I/O count is made up of digital connections: three AES3/EBU inputs and outputs, and a pair of TOSlink sockets that can be configured to accept either stereo S/PDIF or eight-channel ADAT signals.
There’s also audio over USB, and an RJ45 socket that supports four channels of Dante — if you need more advanced AoIP capabilities, the system can be fitted with an optional X64 AoIP Extension card. There are also optional add-ons that provide extra analogue and digital connections (including MADI and SDI).
Pricing & Availability
The Intellimix NEO is available now, priced at €3990. The X64 AoIP Extension costs €960.
