Vielklang distributed through Time + Space
Over a year ago, we reported on Vielklang, an audio harmoniser that has the ability to transform monophonic phrases into realistic-sounding ensemble sequences.
Vielklang can create up to four voices from a monophonic source and, using its built-in harmony-progression models, will generate “musically meaningful” harmonies. But instead of pitch-shifting three additional instances of the original source, it will apply a number of rules to the harmonised voices, making them move from note to note in a more musical (rather than mechanical) manner.
Vielklang automatic maps harmony parts, but should you wish to delve a little deeper, the piano roll layout of the Graphical User Interface (GUI) allows notes to be drawn in and dragged around.
At the time of publishing our original announcement in the SOS news section, Vielklang was still in development, but it’s now picked up mainstream distribution through Time + Space. For more details, and Vielklang audio demos, visit the Time + Space web site.
