Boss unveil ME25 guitar processor

Would you believe that Boss’s ME family of multi-effects units is over 20 years old? Well, it is, and it looks set to continue to grow further, having just been joined by a new member: the ME25.Boss ME25

Roland’s COSM (Composite Object Sound Modelling) technology seems to have snuck its way into almost all of Boss’s latter-day creations, and the ME25 is no exception: COSM-powered amp, cabinet and effects simulations all hide within, as does a 38-second phrase looper.

Outwardly, the ME25 boasts three stomp pedals plus an expression pedal for real-time parameter adjustment, while the unit’s audio I/O array comprises a quarter-inch guitar input (of course), a stereo pair of line outputs, a headphone output socket and an aux input (a stereo 3.5mm jack socket for connecting MP3 players and such).

As well as being a comprehensive guitar processor, the ME25 also functions as a USB audio interface, allowing you to record your playing into your computer and monitor through the line outputs. And to get you started straight away, the ME25 comes with a free copy of Cakewalk’s Sonar 8.5 LE recording software package.
