To the window, to the wall!
Ueberschall (www.ueberschall.com) have announced the latest in their line of sample libraries: Crunkzilla.
If you're unfamilliar with ‘urban’ music, you probably think that Crunkzilla is a bit of a silly name, but you'd be wrong. Crunk is a sub-genre of hip hop that features extensive use of 808-style drums and looped synth patterns, and is produced by artists such as Lil Jon and Ludacris.
Crunkzilla consists of over 2GB of samples in construction kit form, which enable you to use different loops to build a track. As the audio in Crunkzilla runs on Ueberschall’s Elastik Player, which can be used to change the pitch of the song without altering the tempo, and vice versa, the key and speed of the samples can be matched, making working up a track a breeze.
Crunkzilla costs £69 and seems like a must for all budding hip hop producers. You can check out an audio demo at the web site of UK distributors Time + Space.
