Malcolm Toft launch the Ultima console

Features direct outputs for every input

Malcolm Toft Ultima analogue mixing console

Malcom Toft have announced that the new console they announced earlier in 2025 has now officially launched. Available in four sizes, the Ultima has been designed with DAW connectivity in mind, with each version offering a matching number of inputs and direct outputs. As you might expect, it employs the company’s renowned EQ design, and also benefits from the use of through-hole components that ensure the console remains serviceable without the need for specialised equipment.

Each version of the console features a set of mic/line channels equipped with a four-band EQ section, as well as a matching number of alternate channel inputs that can be used simultaneously. There are six auxiliary sends on each channel (four mono and one stereo pair), with the first fixed as a pre-fader send and the remaining five configurable as either pre- or post-fader, and all models feature four subgroups and four effects returns kitted out with low- and high-shelf EQs. Balanced insert points with a switchable bypass function are present on all of the console’s channels, subgroups and effects returns, along with balanced direct outputs.

The master section then provides solo and bypass functions for the console’s auxiliary sends as well as a comprehensive selection of monitoring and talkback functions. Alternate speaker switching and level controls are joined by mono and dim functions, master mute and level controls, a pair of additional stereo returns and talkback routing facilities, along with a built-in headphone amp.
