ACM, The Academy of Contemporary Music and Metropolis Studios are due to launch two new Music Industry Qualification (IQ) courses to run from the world-famous, Chiswick-based studios from January 2015. An open day for these courses is scheduled for 26th July 2014, and registrations are open now.
The two confirmed IQ courses in Artist Development and Music Production, will run over an intensive 26 week period at Metropolis Studios in Chiswick, London allowing students to gain practical music industry skills from ACM’s acclaimed music faculty. The two courses will also give students the opportunity to learn from the Metropolis Grammy Award Winning Music Production team and be in the heart of the UK’s music industry in London.
As Head of ACM Audio Production School Antony Greaves explains “Our focus at ACM is to deliver the very best music industry education with an unbeatable experience. Our new partnership with Metropolis now means we will offer all this at the very heart of the music industry, while the world's idols are making hit records in the room next door! I really couldn't be happier."
Because the two new ACM Metropolis IQ courses can be completed in an intensive 26 week period, promising new international artists and producers will now have the opportunity to access ACM’s acclaimed music industry education via a temporary Student Visa.
ACM Artist Development IQ Course
ACM’s Artist Development Course brings together the best of ACM’s tutor expertise to provide a ‘real’ A&R experience through tuition and mentoring in songwriting, stagecraft, production, music business, artist marketing and development.
The course will also draw on ACM’s impressive range of visiting lecturers from current, successful industry executives across major and independent record companies, artist management, music journalism, digital media and performing rights institutions.
ACM Music Production IQ Course
ACM’s Music Production Course has been designed to provide students with intensive and practical training, offering a progressive study path and leading to a potential vocation within the music industry.
Music Production students will have access to ACM@Metropolis’ state-of-the-art facilities including the MIT suite, recording studios at Metropolis and further studios as well as networking opportunities at ACM’s Guildford campus, which is only an hour away by train.
These two new music industry courses mark the continuation of the unique music industry and education partnership between ACM and Metropolis Studios. Announced back in September 2013, the partnership allows ACM to plug students directly into industry while ensuring the latest music industry trends are reflected in it’s music industry curriculum.
Metropolic Studios CEO Ian Brenchley is suitably excited by the partnership too. “We are elated to throw open the doors of metropolis to a new generation of budding music professionals.” He says “It gives us great pride to be able to pass on over 25 years of cutting edge experience at the forefront of the music production end of the business. Together with ACM we believe we have an incredibly compelling formula to equip students for the music industry far above what any educational course has been able to deliver to date.”
