Arturia have announced the launch of the latest versions of their flagship MIDI controller keyboards. Available in 49- and 61-key versions, the KeyLab Mk3 range boasts a newly designed keybed and benefits from a whole host of new creative features.
The new controllers are both equipped with a new semi-weighted keybed design that promises to combine exceptional quality and outstanding playability thanks to reworked balance, weighting spring tension. Further hands-on control is provided by nine faders and nine potentiometers that all offer touch sensitivity for precise and responsive control. A collection of 12 pads are present, and can cover a multitude of finger drumming, clip launching and other tasks — helpfully, they can now be organised into four banks for additional control possibilites.
Another obvious addition is the inclusion of a larger, colour display that offers a full view of the controller’s settings, parameters and allows for custom mapping. As well as a rotary encoder and back button, the screen is joined by a set of eight contextual buttons for navigation and adjustment of settings. The units also offer enhanced creative performance capabilities when compared to their predecessors, and come equipped with a new arpeggiator and chord mode.
Lastly, the KeyLab Mk3 comes complete with the largest software bundle to date, with users gaining access to Arturia’s Analog Lab V, Mini V, Piano V, Augmented Strings and Rev PLATE-140, along with a copy of Ableton Live Lite, Native Instruments’ The Gentleman, and content from both Loopcloud and Melodics.
