Audio Technica have announced the release of the AT2020USB-X, a newly updated version of their popular AT2020USB+ cardioid condenser USB microphone. Designed to meet the needs of musicians, streamers, podcasters and content creators, the microphone has been upgraded with a 24-bit, 96kHz capable converter and plug-and-play USB-C operation.
The body of the AT2020USB-X features a soft-touch capacitive mute button, with a dual-state LED indicator light within the grille informing users when power is present, and turning red when the mute function is engaged. The built-in headphone jack allows direct monitoring, with users able to blend between the mic’s signal and their computer system’s audio via an on-board mix control.
The microphone comes supplied with a desk stand (picture) and a thread adapter, and a dedicated shock mount (AT8455) is available as an optional extra. Connection to a host computer is made via USB-C, and a cable providing both USB-C and USB-A options ensures compatibility with a wide range of systems.
The AT2020USB-X is available now, priced at $149.
