Baby Audio have released a free plug-in every year since they formed in 2019, each time offering a single-purpose tool using features found in their premium plug-in range. This year, they have announced the release of Pitch Drift, which as the name suggests, introduces pitch fluctuations into a signal.
The effect utilises the Drift algorithm found in the company’s Super VHS plug-in, with a range that spans from subtle instabilities which aim to introduce some natural fluctuation effects, to obvious drifting that leaves sources sounding clearly out of tune. The plug-in features a simple GUI, with just a single Amount slider setting the severity of drift applied. Users are then able to control the speed of the effect by hovering their mouse cursor over a central display screen.
Pitch Drift is supported on Windows and Mac systems, and is available in VST, VST3, AU, and AAX formats.
Pitch Drift is available to download now for free from the Baby Audio website.
