Barefoot Sound to launch MM26 at AES show in NY

New 4-way design uses woofer that "rivals any driver in history"

Barefoot Sound is introducing at AES 2015 their brand new MicroMain26 monitor, based on the renowned MicroMain27 Gen2 platform. The new MM26 raises performance to new highs with the addition of Barefoot's exceptionally transparent and detailed 2.5" aluminum cone midrange.

The MicroMain26 is a 4-way active system with 6 drive units housed in sealed enclosures spanning 30Hz to 45kHz. Its makers are claiming it exhibits "vanishingly low distortion, remarkable dynamic range and ultra-fast transient response". The ring radiator tweeter is also said to be exceptionally detailed, producing very wide dispersion out to its highest frequencies.

The Barefoot MM26 2.5-inch aluminum cone midrange is housed in a modern 3D-printed waveguide enclosure and is accompanied by a pair of 5.25-inch woofers yielding upper bass and lower midrange detail that "rivals any driver in history", say Barefoot.

The new Barefoot MM26 the MM26 provides four modes: the brutally revealing "Flat" response, the warmer and sweeter "Hi-Fi" setting, the "Old School" setting that emulates the sound of the Yamaha NS10M nearfield, while the "Cube" setting emulates the mid-centric sound of classic mix cubes.
