Boom Library have released World War I Firearms, a high-resolution sound effects collection designed to capture the authentic sound of early 20th-century weaponry. The full library features both unprocessed and processed recordings of original WWI-era firearms, recorded in outdoor settings with multi-mic arrays for spatial realism and precise reverb tails.
World War I Firearms places emphasis on historical accuracy. The library includes the sounds of revolvers, pistols, rifles and shotguns from the era, with mechanical actions such as reloads, cocking and dry fires also documented in detail. All recordings were captured using genuine vintage weapons rather than replicas or modern substitutes. All audio files are delivered in 24-bit 96kHz WAV format suitable for Windows and Mac.
Firearms featured include:
- Revolvers: Colt New Service, Webley Mk VI, Nagant M1895
- Pistols: M1911, Luger P08, Mauser C96
- Rifles: Springfield M1903, Mosin Nagant 1891, M1917 Enfield
- Shotguns: Winchester M1887, Browning Auto 5
