The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari is one of the earliest, most influential and most artistically acclaimed German Expressionist films of the silent era. The impact of this film is still being felt and seen today, and for good reason. Caligari has been cited as an influence on film noir, one of the earliest horror films, and a model for directors for many decades. It is a shocking, disturbing masterpiece.
To coincide with the 90th anniversary of this classic silent horror film Cipher – saxophonist/flautist Theo Travis and bassist Dave Sturt – perform their new score live along with the film. Cipher use a range of music software and effects pedals to process their instruments, creating beats and looped atmospheres overlaid by their real-time performance.
Catch the next performance at The National Media Museum, Bradford, Thursday 25th March 8:30pm
