Apple have just announced the launch of DJ with Apple Music, a new integrated experience that will allow users of a range of leading DJ hardware and software platforms to build and mix sets directly from their Apple Music catalogue.
The new integration is available to users of AlphaTheta and Serato, as well as a range of inMusic’s DJ brands such as Engine DJ, Denon DJ, Numark and RANE DJ. The company say that it has been designed to ensure that DJs at every level have easy and intuitive access to Apple Music’s collection — which currently stands at over 100 million songs — allowing them to create and rehearse their sets on any the supported platforms.
DJ with Apple Music aims to build upon the success of Apple Music’s DJ Mixes, a programme that has turned Apple Music into the premier destination for premium DJ mixes since its announcement in September 2021. The new integration aims to expand on that relationship by encouraging DJs to use the new features as a creative tool that improves the experience of accessing and finding inspiration in their music libraries. Beginning today, users can also access a new dedicated DJ with Apple Music category page, which highlights a series of DJ-friendly editorial playlists, along with new curator pages for each DJ software and hardware platform that showcase mixes or sample playlists that can be used to for practise.
“Apple Music is committed to supporting DJs. With this latest integration, we’re taking that commitment even further — seamlessly connecting Apple Music with the industry’s leading DJ software and hardware. This innovation brings the full power of Apple Music into the creative workflow, making it easier than ever for DJs to access, play and discover music in real time.” - Stephen Campbell, Global Head of Dance, Electronic & DJ Mixes, Apple Music
