Xaoc Devices announce the Samarkanda

Performance-focused module houses four independent delays

Xaoc Devices Samarkanda Eurorack modular synth performance delay module

Eurorack gurus Xaoc Devices have announced the launch of their latest creation, the Samarkanda. Occupying 42HP of space, the module is described as a performance-oriented digital delay station, and packs in four independent delay channels along with some resampling and looping capabilities.

The Samarkanda’s four channels each offer between 0.5ms and 15 seconds of delay time, and can be stacked or chained, linked and clocked for synchronous operation, as well as controlled with calibrated 1V/octave signals. It’s possible to infinitely hold and/or reverse the signal in each channel’s buffer, which can also act as a resonator, chorus or flanger effect. Xaoc Devices say that the module doesn’t employ any additional filtering or other “beautifying tricks” to process its delayed sounds, and instead leaves users to patch in external modules of their choice for any tonal adjustment they wish to carry out.
