Boutique microphone manufacturer Ear Trumpet Labs have introduced Wanda, a stand-mounted condenser microphone. Combining design inspired by 1940s and 1950s aesthetics with modern audio performance, Wanda is said to be suited to both live and studio applications.
The Wanda microphone features a stylish all-brass construction, inspired by the designs of the 1940s and 1950s.Wanda features a large 26 mm diaphragm condenser capsule and a cardioid polar pattern with a wide sweet spot extending up to 12 inches across. Capable of handling high sound pressure levels, Wanda is said to be equally suited for vocalists, brass and string instruments, as well high-SPL percussive sources like snare drums or kick drums. An integrated multilayer pop filter ensures clean, plosive‑free audio even in close‑mic settings.
Engineered with a rugged all‑brass construction, Ear Trumpet Labs describe this as a road‑ready mic ideal for live performances, yet refined enough for the fidelity of studio recording. The pivoting stand mount is built directly into the microphone for easy positioning on a stand without requiring additional clips. Wanda boasts an output impedance below 50 Ohms, a noise floor of just 14 dBA and compatibility with +24V to +48V phantom power systems.
As with all Ear Trumpet Labs microphones, Wanda is handcrafted in their Oregon workshop.
