The latest version of Rob Papen’s all-in-one virtual instrument and effects bundle has arrived, bringing together 33 of the developer’s renowned plug-ins. With the launch of eXplorer 10, the bundle has gained an all-new synth along with some updates to its existing line-up, while a collection of legacy products help to ensure compatibility with older sessions.
New to the table is SynFex, a soft synth that aims to make quick work of creating the ‘risers’ and ‘drops’ that are so prevalent in modern electronic music and cinematic productions. It boasts a Movement section dedicated to creating tempo-based effects, as well as a selection of different filter types, granular synthesis capabilities and a collection of built-in effects. In addition to the wealth of classic synth sounds on offer, the instrument features a collection of onboard samples, and also allows users to import their own custom samples.
SynFeX becomes the latest instrument to join Rob Papen's flagship collection.
RAW-2, meanwhile, brings one of Rob Papen’s most loved instruments up to date with a wealth of new features and a refreshed preset collection. The instrument centres around a pair of oscillators that are each equipped with an X-Y pad that allows users to alter waveforms using phase distortion, as well as drawing in custom LFO shapes to create intricate movement patterns.
New content for some of the bundle’s existing offerings include a BLUE-III eXplorer-X soundset that provides a set of 130 new sounds created by Gerald Arend (aka Klangwelt) and Rob Papen himself, and the Albino-3 Legend XPS soundset, which includes a whopping 850 presets.
