AES Student conference Southampton feature

If you’re a UK student interested in a career in audio then you should probably register for the AES student conference ‘UP Your Output!’. The event features keynote speakers from the likes of the BBC, Facebook VR, Dolby Labs and Focusrite and promises workshops covering a huge range of topics. Some highlights include workshops covering live sound, music mastering, 3D audio, game audio, mixing for Dolby Atmos, loudspeaker design, studio optimisation, and careers.

The Audio Engineering Society student conference ‘UP Your Output!’ is being held this year at Southampton Solent University on Saturday March 18th and Sunday March 19th. You need to be a student member of AES to register for your free place. It is open to current students and recent graduates. If you aren’t already an AES member, it is just $50 USD to join as a student, and there are a wide range of benefits, from this conference, to discounts on main AES conferences, to free plugins! www.aes.org/membership

In addition, UP Your Output! features an exhibition element with a range of companies from across the sector who will be on hand to demonstrate their latest equipment and give technical demonstrations.

There is also the opportunity for students to showcase their individual project work in an audio related area by summarising their project in the form of an A1 size poster. Prizes for best posters include the complete plugin bundles from Solid State Logic, worth over £1000, as well as plugin bundles from Acustica Audio and iZotope, and books from Focal Press.
