Tech troubleshooting service expands

Matt Cox

Late last year, a collective of top UK keyboard technicians launched MuSOS, an online help service for musicians, sound techs and engineers. Whether you have a fault in your hardware, a software configuration issue, or simply need advice on programming or operating your kit, you can call on MuSOS's highly experienced team of engineers to help you through your troubles.

At present, the MuSOS team includes the Chemical Brothers' MIDI technician Matt Cox (pictured), Prodigy keyboard tech Mat Davie, programmer Ali Staton (Madonna, Snow Patrol, MIA), MIDI and playback tech Marcus Lyndsey (Massive Attack, George Michael, Craig David), and many more. In short, their credentials are beyond reproach!

Initially launched as a beta service, MuSOS are expanding, so that you can now subscribe (Patreon-style) and receive discounted access to the main troubleshooting service, as well as getting access to regular posts, articles, how-tos and tips written by the MuSOS team.

Other new services include the 'Line Check' option, which is available to non-subscribers and puts your tech queries to the MuSOS 'hive mind'; and 'Sound Check', where you'll receive 15 minutes of one-to-one help from one of the MuSOS gurus. Finally, the 'Kit Check' service is described as “an MOT for your studio or live computer”, and will see the MuSOS team go through your computer-based setup and offer configuration and maintenance advice to ensure all will run as expected.

Finally, a new 'video podcast' is planned, and this will see the MuSOS team discuss some of the recent help requests they've seen, and pass on their advice so that you don't have to suffer the same fate.
