Clavia announce Nord Piano 5

New 73-note version introduced

Clavia Nord Piano 5

What's black and white and red all over? Clavia's new Nord Piano 5, the latest instrument in the Swedish company's acclaimed Nord Piano series. The Piano 5 contains all the classic Nord sounds that have won over users of previous versions, as well as a more powerful sound engine, and a new 73-note weighted grand-piano-action option (pictured below).

One notable new feature is the addition of a second piano engine, so that you can play two of the instrument's piano sounds simultaneously, either layered or as a split. The keyboard split functionality has also been upgraded with optional crossfades. Naturally, the Piano 5 also comes with a range of new sounds, courtesy of Clavia's ever-expanding Nord Piano Library, and the amount of memory available to add new sounds to has also doubled compared with the previous Nord Piano.

Both the 73- and 88-note versions of Clavia's Nord Piano 5 are due to start shipping later in the Spring, though pricing is yet to be confirmed. Check out the video below for more details.
