Sound Particles release inShaper

New waveshaper plug-in announced

Sound Particles inShaper waveshaper wave folder distortion plug-in

Aimed at music and post-production users alike, the latest addition to the Sound Particles line‑up offers an array of creative distortion effects, and presents them in a simple, intuitive interface that’s been designed to encourage experimentation.

inShaper offers Single and Dual modes, with the former allowing users to work with a single shaping curve and offering controlled distortions, and the latter blending two different curves to create more complex textures. There are over 65 curve shapes to choose from, all of which can be fine-tuned using Drive, Modifier, Bias and Gain parameters. There’s also an onboard LFO that can be used to modulate both Shaper sections’ controls and create continually evolving distortions — it’s possible to sync the modulation to DAW tempo to create rhythmic distortion effects.

Key Features

  • Dual-Waveform Engine: Choose one curve or blend two for fuller, more dynamic distortion textures.
  • 65+ Curves: Explore everything from subtle waveshaping to aggressive wave folding.
  • Drive Linked to Gain: Add character, warmth, or punch while keeping output levels  consistent by linking drive to gain.
  • LFO Modulation & Curve Control: Bring your distortion to life: modulate drive, bias, gain or the modifier and keep it musical with endless LFO modulations.
  • Work With Space: Get interesting effects by applying different LFO offsets to each speaker.
  • Multi-Channel Support: From mono, stereo, surround or immersive formats — your  sound plays everywhere.

Compatibility

inShaper is supported on PCs running Windows 10 or above, and Macs running macOS 10.15 and higher. VST3, AU and AAX plug-in versions are available.

Pricing & Availability

inShaper is available now, and is currently (12 February 2026) being offered at an introductory price of $49, reduced from its full cost of $69.
