British mic makers Sontronics are five years old this Autumn, and to celebrate, they have announced that, up until the end of October, anyone who purchases a STC1 small-diaphragm cardioid condenser will get two extra capsules for free.
The capsules are worth £40 each, and endow the mic with a choice of omnidirectional or hypercardioid polar patterns. To claim them, all you have to do is purchase the STC1 from Sontronics’s UK distributors Time + Space, or a participating dealer, fill out a rebate form (which can be found at www.timespace.com/pub/sontronics_rebate.pdf), and send it to Time + Space. The offer is also available to customers who buy a stereo pair of STC1s, and in that case the buyer will receive two for each mic — for a total of £160 worth of extra capsules.
