PSPaudioware introduce PSP DRC plug-in

DBX 118-inspired processor announced

PSPaudioware PSP DRC DBX 118 compander compressor expander plug-in

The latest plug-in from PSPaudioware has just arrived, offering a modern take on the famed DBX 118. The company say that PSP Dynamic Range Controller, or PSP DRC, provides users with an essential tool for modern music production, and boasts some advanced processing capabilities that are seldom found in contemporary hardware or software.

Although the plug-in is inspired by DBX’s classic unit, it’s not a direct emulation of the original hardware version, but rather a reimagination that expands on the design and introduces some helpful additional features. It is capable of applying both compression and expansion, as well as isolating signals that fall above or below the threshold for individual processing, allowing for a more detailed level of control than is possible with many alternative plug-ins. The company have also introduced a compressor/expander pairing function, which can be activated by setting the compressor and expander ratios to 2:1 and 1:2 respectively, while onboard side-chain EQ and support for external side-chain signals offer in-depth control over the plug-in’s processing.

Compatibility

PSP DRC is supported on PCs running Windows 7 and above, and Macs running macOS 10.14 and higher. VST, VST3, AU and AAX plug-in versions are available.

Pricing & Availability

PSP DRC is available now, and is being offered at an introductory price of $69 until 4 June 2025, when it will increase to $99.
