Belgium-based audio company Leapwing Audio have announced the release of LimitOne, a new plug-in designed to give greater control over transients. LimitOne combines frequency domain and time domain processing, offering a fresh approach to limiting that is said to prioritise transparency and flexibility.
Unlike traditional limiting tools that focus solely on managing loudness and sound energy, LimitOne uses a dual-algorithm design to introduce an adaptive system that balances both frequency and time domains. The plug-in features two key processing algorithms: "Pufferfish" optimises energy distribution across the frequency spectrum, and "Hedgehog" is designed to shape transients with precision. This hybrid method provides users with the ability to achieve softer limiting or harder clipping, depending on their needs.
LimitOne also offers real-time monitoring through visual waveform and spectrogram views, along with support for high-quality audio at sample rates up to 384kHz. It also includes adjustable 16- and 24-bit dither options and a resizable Retina-compatible interface.
Price & Availability
LimitOne is available for £189 / €249$249 and is compatible with Windows and macOS in VST3, AU, and AAX formats.
