Education Day: Not just for kids!
Education day (Friday) at the London International Music Show was a great success!
We kicked off our seminar schedule, with SOS contributor Jem Godfrey running the audience through sound design tips and tricks, with a little help from a circuit-bent 'speak & spell' and a Pro Tools rig.
The first of our Producer Panels followed, with Jerry Boys, Mark Rose, Steve Lyon, Greg Haver and Mike Cave talking tech, skillfully moderated by SOS contributor Martin Walker.
Editor In Chief Paul White and Technical Editor Hugh Robjohns took the reins next, with a seminar on home production techniques, assisted by SOS Production Editor Debbie Poyser on vocals, Publisher Dave Lockwood on Bass, and Chris Mayes-Wright, SOS News Editor, messing about with software instruments.
Finishing off the day was Mike Crofts, Performing Musician Magazine's in-house PA expert, who demonstrated how to set up a PA for a band in a live situation.
