The latest offering from MeldaProduction aims to provide users with an all-in-one plug-in solution for drum mixing. MDrumStrip consists of a collection of plug-ins which analyse incoming audio and adjust their settings accordingly with the aim of reducing the amount of work, and individual processors, required to achieve a mix-ready drum sound.
The collection works by providing dedicated processing devices for each element of a drum kit, which are inserted onto the appropriate individual drum channels in a DAW session, all of which should then be routed to a bus channel loaded with an instance of MDrumStrip’s Master device. An Auto Input button on each module allows users to solo the individual channels and toggle through different generated presets to arrive at their desired sound.
For those wishing for more in-depth control over their sound, each of the modules are equipped with a range of processes including dynamic EQ, compression, reverb and a gate. There is also a Bleed Kill feature which aims to attenuate the bleed from other elements of the kit, and is said to be particularly effective with intrusive cymbals.
The plug-in features Bass Drum, Snare Drum, Tom, Tom Bus, Hi Hat, Overheads and Room modules, as well as the Master module, and a Parallel module designed to implement send and return reverb, compression and drive effects.
MDrumStrip is supported on PCs running Windows 8, 10 and 11, and Macs running macOS 10.14 and higher. It is available in VST, VST3, AU and AAX formats.
