Rode have just released a handy-looking kit that looks ideal for videographers and self-streaming musicians.
The aptly named Vlogger Kit includes a Rode VideoMic (a miniature 'shotgun' microphone that attaches directly to your phone, tablet or camera), a Rycote WS9 windshield, a Rode Tripod 2 for static shots, a SmartGrip for handheld filming, and a MicroLED on-camera light kit, which comprises an LED lamp, a clip-on diffuser and a selection of colour filters.
The Vlogger Kit is available in three versions: the iOS and Android editions connect via Lightning and USB-C, respectively, and both ship with a lightweight metal mount that clips around your smartphone and allows you to connect all the accessories. The Universal edition (pictured, right) employs a standard 3.5mm jack plug for the VideoMic, and adds a DCS-1 dual-accessory mount to the smartphone clip, as well as a Rycote Lyre shockmount.
The Rode Vlogger Kit is expected to hit the shelves imminently, with US pricing set at $149.
