Prism Sound (www.prismsound.com) and JAMES, the educational division of the Music Producers Guild (www.mpg.org.uk), are organising a series of events, called the Mic To Master tour. Running from October to December, the weekend‑long events will include seminars from recording engineers and equipment manufacturers, showcasing the latest studio technologies and including forums where attendees can pose questions to manufacturing experts and producers. There will also be listening sessions, where people can play their own material and producers will offer advice, tips and techniques that can be used to improve it.
The dates and venues for the Mic To Master events are: 22nd to 23rd October at LIPA in Liverpool, 29th to 30th October at the University Of Westminster in London, 12th to 13th November at Northbrook College in Reigate, 19th to 20th November at Leeds Metropolitan University, 26th to 27th November at Glamorgan University in Cardiff, and 3rd to 4th December at Abertay University in Dundee. The Mic To Master shows will also give attendees a chance to check out first hand all the new features in SADiE 6, which you can read about on page 18.
