Sensoria, the UK's festival of film, music and digital, reveals the full line-up for their 15th edition, which will bring nine days of live music, world and UK premieres, shows, films, photography, talks, exclusive collaborations and electronic greatness across Sheffield. The highlights include;
- UK Premiere screening of The Subharchord – A Future That Never Happened, a very early synthesizer created by East German technicians at the start of the 1960s. The film will be screened on Saturday 8 October at 6pm
- World Premiere of QUADROS, a truly unique interactive music performance inspired by British electronic music pioneer Tristram Cary takes place on Saturday 8 October at 7:45pm
- Theatrical length screening of OTHER, LIKE ME: The Oral History Of Coum Transmissions & Throbbing Gristle on Wednesday 5 October at 8:00pm
- A Film about Studio Electrophonique, uncovers the story of Sheffield-based studio which gave rise to a generation of pop superstars and electronic greats such as ABC, The Human League, Heaven 17, Clock DVA and Pulp. Taking place on Friday 7 October, the event includes film intro and live music
SensoriaPro (Friday 7 October) is a unique gathering in which composers, filmmakers, music publishers and academics discuss the latest innovations in music and the moving image. This year, guests include celebrated sound recordist Chris Watson and panel sessions debating NFTs, Composer Buyouts, and working with archive material.
SynthFest UK (Saturday 8 October) the UK's biggest synthesizer exhibition showcasing Analogue, Digital, Modular and Software Synths. 10:30am - 6:30pm.
A celebration of a city and its music, film, art and electronica, Sensoria runs from 30 September - 8 October 2022.
