Synth gains new microtonal tuning options
As its name suggests, Sonicware’s LIVEN Ambient Ø instrument has been designed from the ground up with ambient music in mind, and despite its modest price, boasts a complex sound engine that’s capable of generating all manner of interesting sounds. The company have just announced the release of a Version 1.5 firmware release that introduces support for seven new microtonal tuning systems.
What’s Included?
With the latest firmware update installed, LIVEN Ambient Ø users will be kitted out with the following new features and functions:
- Seven different tuning systems per pattern — including pure intonation, major, minor, Pythagorean, sharp, flat and solfeggio frequencies — in addition to the standard equal temperament options. Supports master tuning from 410Hz to 470Hz.
- 64 sound pattern palettes that include 32 newly added sounds and patterns, along with 16 Sound Healing Vibes sounds.
- Relaxation Playback Mode: Arrange your favourite patterns, set repeats and fade-outs and let the instrument fill the space with ambient sound.
- Line In now Selectable on NOISE Layer: Apply filtering, LFOs, and other track-level controls to the input signal.
- New LFO Waveforms and Assignment: Three slow LFOs added (L.SIN, L.TRI, L.S.RN), with Oscillator Level added as a destination.
