SoundToggle have announced the launch of a new online audio player aimed at mixing engineers wishing to showcase before and after examples of their work. It has been designed to show off portfolios in the simplest way possible, and can be embedded directly into host platforms such as Squarespace, Wix and more.
Users simply have to upload time-aligned before and after examples — the service supports lossless audio to ensure the best possible sound quality — and customise the style of the player to suit their brand and website. Both single and playlist versions are available, with a simple interface allowing visitors to stream the uploaded audio and quickly switch between the before and after examples with an embedded toggle switch.
A free version is provided for users to try out the player, and there are paid options ranging from $6 to $15 per month (or $94 to $230 as a one-off payment) that each offer different levels of storage space, song capacity and customisation. The platform is still being added to, and will soon gain some additional features including support for custom logos, private playlists, three-way toggling and built-in loudness normalisation.
SoundToggle has been created by Matt Esbo, the founder of Minneapolis-based Cloverleaf Audio-Visual, and Elliot Mangin, a developer and drum & bass producer known as Big Sister. More information about the audio player can be found on the company’s website.
