Spitfire Audio's latest release is a collaboration with producer and composer Gaika, and it offers an eclectic mix of electronic sounds and textures. Priced to sell, at just £29, War Island promises “evolving sounds from the beating heart of London's industrial underground”, and includes synth basses and drones, processed drums, pads, leads and vocal effects.
In keeping with Gaika's own music releases, War Island claims an atmospheric, abstract vibe inspired by “the distinctive buzz of an ever-changing and perceptibly dystopian London”. The library's 42 presets are split into six categories — Pads, Basses, Leads, Atmosphere, Drums and Vocal — and the simple UI gives users control over parameters such as reverb amount, attack/release, dynamics, expression, and modulation effects.
War Island is available now, and Spitfire say they'll be donating 12.5% of its sales to the Hackney Caribbean Elderly Organisation. To hear the new library in action, check out the video below.
