SoundFlow have announced the launch of an update that brings some powerful new features to their Pro Tools task-automation software. Shaped by months of real-world use and direct community feedback, the SoundFlow 6.1 update introduces a rebuilt Session Assistant, a new Learning Assistant feature that offers an intelligent alternative to manuals and online searches, and a selection of new organisation tools.
What’s New?
The first change is to the Session Assistant, which has been rebuilt from the ground up to allow for significantly more complex automations. The company say that it now delivers faster responses while boasting deeper awareness of session context, and includes hundreds of new actions across tracks, routing, folders, markers, inserts, sends and the entire Pro Tools menu system. Complex tasks that once required dozens of clicks can now be completed with a single, natural-language request.
A new Learning Assistant function then brings Pro Tools documentation directly into the DAW. It provides users with instant, version-accurate answers from official sources without them needing to leave their session. Accessible via text or voice, the Learning Assistant is capable of providing clear, accurate answers, and avoids the need to dig through manuals or search for answers online.
SoundFlow 6.1 also introduces some innovative organisation tools, including:
- A Tab system for scripts and macros for faster navigation when editing multiple documents.
- Tagging and advanced filtering for large automation libraries.
- A cleaner, more focused search experience in the Editor.
The company say that SoundFlow 6.1 represents “the next step in a broader vision: intelligent automation that feels invisible, intuitive, and deeply connected to the creative process”. Future updates are already planned out, with the software set to gain additional SFX framework and open up automation to third-party plugins and audio applications.
