Swarm Reverb plug-in from Minimal Audio

Blend between early and late reflection algorithms

Minimal Audio Swarm Reverb early late reflection balance algorithmic reverb plug-in

Minimal Audio’s latest plug-in, Swarm Reverb, promises a fun and flexible approach to reverb processing, employing dedicated early and late reflection algorithms to deliver everything from simple room ambiences to dramatic creative effects.

A section in the lower half of the GUI houses Attack, Size, Decay and Damping controls, as well as Width and Diffusion parameters, while a Balance control makes it possible to set the relative levels of the plug-in’s early and late reflections. Further tonal shaping of the reverb tail is provided by a Diffusion Filter section. A visual indication of how the processor is reacting to the current settings is then provided by a large central display window.

The top left of the plug-in is occupied by a Predelay control which can be synchronised to the tempo of the host application, and is followed by an Input Filter section that offer both high- and low-pass filters at the start of the processing chain. Over on the opposite side, a Ducker section makes it possible to attenuate the effect based on the incoming signal, and is joined by Modulation Depth and Rate controls that allow users to craft interesting creative effects without introducing artifacts.

Input and Output level sliders can be found along the bottom of the GUI placed either side of a Wet/Dry mix control, and the plug-in also comes equipped with two soft clip limiter options that can be used to keep the output levels under control or introduce some saturation.

Swarm Reverb is supported on PCs running Windows 10 or above, and Macs running macOS 10.9 and higher. It is available in VST, VST3, AU and AAX plug-in formats. An internet connection is required during activation.
