Syngular for Modartt Pianoteq 9

Adds new experimental keys & synth sounds

Modartt Syngular Pianoteq instrument pack synth key sounds

A few months on from its release, Modartt’s Pianoteq 9 has gained a new instrument pack that uses the software’s praised physical modelling to create a range of keys and synth pad sounds.

Syngular takes a different approach to Modartt’s previous instrument packs, which all use the company’s modelling technology to emulate real acoustic instruments. Although primarily designed for simulating the likes of strings and hammers, Pianoteq’s engine is capable of far more, and the new addition to the line-up uses its core parameters to create a whole host of new experimental timbres.

Controls that will be familiar to Pianoteq users (Unison Width, Strike Point, Spectrum Profile and so on) are said to become “instruments for exploration”, allowing users to create interesting new sounds that are detached from the limitations of real-world acoustics. Despite the new approach, Modartt say that patches still retain an organic, dynamic feel and boast a natural velocity response.

The pack comes loaded with 50 presets that include a selection of pads, basses and leads that lend themselves to everything from ambient soundscapes to crisp-sounding modern pop productions. And being a part of Pianoteq means Syngular can be layered and morphed with any of the existing instrument packs to create an array of hybrid sounds.

Compatibility

Syngular runs in Pianoteq 9, which is supported on PCs running Windows 10 or later, Macs running macOS 10.31 and above, and ARM-based Linux machines. VST3, AU and AAX plug-in versions are available, along with a standalone application.

Pricing & Availability

Syngular is available now, and is priced at $39€39 (reduced from $49€49) throughout December 2025.
