Presented by Sound On Sound, SynthFest UK is set to return to the Octagon Centre in Sheffield — aka Synth City — for the third year running. Taking place on Saturday 6th October, this year’s SynthFest is set to be bigger than ever, with over 50 brands exhibiting, new product launches and demos, a packed seminar programme and the ever-popular Modular Meet.
The event is set to showcase the largest range of synth gear to be found under one roof, covering everything from boutique Eurorack modules to analogue, digital and software synths from major manufacturers. Read a full list here. You’ll be able to try and buy gear on the day and chat with manufacturers, synth experts and SOS staff, who will be offering advice at the Synth Help Desk. Seminar speakers this year include Martyn Ware of Heaven 17 and BBC Radiophonic Workshop archivist Mark Ayers. The show is sponsored by Genelec, who will also be providing monitors for the Modular Meet, where modular mavens can gather to show off their personal synth setups. Tickets, which include entry to the exhibition and all seminars, are available now for £10 in advance or for £15 on the day. If you've not attended before see the the 2017 show report and video.
