VEMIA: 4th - 11th November 2006

Shere's annual online vintage gear auction dates announced
The 22nd annual Vintage Electrical Musical Instrument Auction (VEMIA), organised by Sphere, will take place between the 4th and 11th November at www.spheremusic.com. Organisers have confirmed a preliminary list of 22 items, which will all have a £22 start price (can you see the pattern?) with no reserve! Listed items include an ARP 2600 (with 3200 keyboard), a one-off ARP 'MIDIssey' — a keyboard-less Odyssey with MIDI and lots of extras, a MiniKorg 700, a Clavinet C, an MXR pitch transposer, an Oberheim Four-voice (pictured), a Roland SH2000 and a Vesta Kozo Spring Reverb.

Also up for grabs will be a huge selection of other gear: hundreds of old, new, pricey and cheap items are yet to be confirmed — much of it coming from big names in music (although some prefer to remain anonymous).

VEMIA is different from other online auctions, in that it is organised by vintage gear experts, and personal care is taken of buyers and sellers alike. Sphere vet sellers, and act as the third-party escrow agent, meaning money is only transferred when goods are received.

If you're unsuccessful in the main auction, Sunday 12th November is 'second-chance Sunday', where owners of unsold items can reduce the price for a guaranteed sale.
