VSL have recently introduced four new Single Packs for their acclaimed Synchron Special Brass sample library series, further expanding the palette of brass instruments recorded in the large Stage A of their Vienna Synchron Stage. Synchron Wagner Tuba, Synchron Contrabass Trombone, Synchron Euphonium and Synchron Contrabass Tuba all run in the company’s Synchron Player, and benefit from Flow View GUI, an innovative performance-focused GUI mode.
What’s New?
Synchron Special Brass will eventually consist of 11 individual Single Packs, and this latest release brings the current count to 10 — VSL say that Synchron Wagner Tuba Ensemble will be released very soon. Here’s what available at the moment:
- Synchron Trumpet (Bb, muted)
- Synchron Trumpet Ensemble (muted)
- Synchron Piccolo Trumpet
- Synchron Cornet
- Synchron Flugelhorn
- Synchron Bass Trumpet
- Synchron Wagner Tuba
- Synchron Contrabass Trombone
- Synchron Euphonium
- Synchron Contrabass Tuba
In true VSL fashion, all instruments are available in Standard and Full versions. Both are identical in terms of articulations, but the latter includes a wider variety of microphone signals.
Compatibility
Synchron Special Brass runs in VSL’s Synchron Player, which is supported on PCs running Windows 10 and above, and Macs running macOS 11 and higher. VST, VST3, AU and AAX plug-in versions are available.
Pricing & Availability
The Single Packs are available now, priced at $100€89 each for the Standard versions, and $167€149 each for the Full versions — discounted priced will be available for a short period following the Special Packs’ release (18 December 2025).
