Soundgas’ latest gear auction sees the company offer up a selection of gear sourced from the studio of legendary British musician John Paul Jones.
JPJ was an in-demand session player and arranger during the 1960s, working extensively for artists such as Mickie Most and Robert Stigwood. It was through this work that he met Jimmy Page, and in 1968, the two went on to form Led Zeppelin alongside Robert Plant and John Bonham. He’s also built up a vast catalogue of production work, as well as forming part of Them Crooked Vultures with Dave Grohl and Josh Homme. He still writes, performs and records today, but as he no longer requires so much studio equipment, he’s teamed up with Soundgas! He feels it should be in the hands of people who will put it to good use, so it is offered here without formal provenance, with the hope that it continues to be used as intended.
