Duality Strings Essentials
Duality Strings takes a best-of-both-worlds approach to string sampling, capturing 52- and 27-piece string sections performing in the contrasting acoustics of their facility's Stage A and Stage B rooms, both directed by a single conductor. The result is a single, cohesive library that allows users to seamlessly mix between the two sections, blending between a cinematic Hollywood-style symphonic sound and the more intimate and immediate sound of the smaller ensemble. Duality Strings Essentials comes loaded with a selection of articulations taken from the full library, and benefits from the recently introduced Flow View GUI.
VSL have just announced the launch of an entry-level version, Duality Strings Essentials, which comes loaded with a carefully curated set of articulations and benefits from the intuitive Flow View interface recently added to Synchron Prime Edition. The system automatically switches articulations based on playing speed and velocity, allowing users to focus entirely on their music, while parameters such as Humanization, Timbre, Note Transitions and Note Attack can be used to fine-tune the sound. Synchron Player’s original interface has not been replaced, though, and those who wish for more detailed control over the library can access all of the in-depth features by switching to Precision View.
Angelic Choir
Angelic Choir is the latest addition to VSL's growing range of free sample libraries.
The company have also released another free instrument in the form of Angelic Choir, which captures a 16 vocalists performing in their Vienna Silent Stage facility, and promises to deliver “not only a pure, radiant sound, but also bring a touch of divine beauty to every production”. A selection of crafted mixer presets allow users to to position the performers’ voices in any acoustic space — from intimate rooms to lush concert halls to grand cathedrals, while additional effects presets provide a range of tonal colours and reverberation options.
