VSL introduce Fazioli F212 piano library

New mid-sized piano joins Synchron range

VSL Synchron Fazioli F212 piano sample library Vienna Symphonic Library

Having already sampled a Fazioli F308 in the Stage A room of their Synchron Stage Vienna facility, VSL have now announced the release of Synchron Fazioli F212, which captures Fazioli’s classic mid-sized piano played in the smaller, drier-sounding Stage B.

The piano in question is owned by pianist and film composer Mick Baumeister, and has been fitted with a new hammer row by Paolo Fazioli himself, a modification which is said to deliver beautifully rounded tones across the entire playing range. To ensure that the instrument was captured as consistently as possible, VSL chose to use a robotic finger system capable of providing variable curvatures for downstrokes and release movements, allowing them to accurately adjust the samples’ note lengths and release speeds.

The library is hosted by VSL’s Synchron Pianos software, which includes a comprehensive mixer section that provides full control over the library’s multiple microphone positions (four in the Standard version, and eight in the Full Library) as well as a comprehensive set of processing and effects including EQ, compression, saturation, reverb, delay, chorus, rotary emulation and more. There are also a set of parameters that make it possible to fine-tune characteristics such as body resonances and pedal noise, as well as offering tuning, volume, EQ and dynamic range values for every individual key.

Synchron Pianos is supported on PCs running Windows 10 or above, and Macs running macOS 10.14 and higher. VST, VST3, AU and AAX plug-in versions are available. The Standard version requires 68.7GB of space, and the Full Library requires 148.6GB.
