Google’s Android range of mobile devices gains a new application this month, thanks to Essex-based software developers Digital Antics. The Audio Test Tone Generator, as its name suggests, turns your Android-enabled phone into a tone generator capable of outputting white noise, pink noise and brown noise, as well as a selection of waveforms (sine, triangle, saw, reverse saw and square) at any frequency between 2Hz and 20kHz. The generator can also perform sweeps within a user-defined range of frequencies (useful for sorting out room problems), and it is capable of running as a background application, with settings that dictate its behaviour when the app is not in the foreground, or when your phone rings.
Available to buy now from the Digital Antics web site, the Audio Test Tone Generator for Google Android phones cost £4.99.
