Live Sound students study at Camden venue
London Music College Point Blank (www.pointblanklondon.com) have announced that they've teamed up with club chain Barfly to develop their Live Sound course.
Students on the 12-week course will spend their days at the Camden Barfly, getting hands-on experience with the venue's mixing desks, PA system and lighting rig, with training from Point Blank's Ian Button and the Barfly's head sound engineer. After students are fully competent, they're given the chance to get behind the desk at a live Barfly gig.
The announcement coincides with the country-wide increase in the performance of live music, which could leave the live sound industry facing a shortage in experienced engineers in the future, if the trend continues.
To enrol on Point Blank's course, or for further information, contact David Reid via email (david@pointblanklondon.com) or by phone, on +44 (0)207 729 4884. New students are enrolled every 12 weeks.
