Guitar Odyssey is the latest sample library to be released by Naroth Audio, and promises to redefine the role of guitars in cinematic scoring. It comes loaded with 170 guitar tones that cover classic and modern sounds, as well as an advanced layering and modulation system that provides users with all they need to craft everything from aggressive lead sounds to immersive pads and soundscapes.
A range of high-quality instruments have been sampled for the library, with candidates including a PRS CE-24, 1995 Japanese Telecaster, Vintage Reissue Telecaster, Carvin DC727, BC Rich Mockingbird ST, Thinline Modern Player Telecaster and a modified fretless Hondo Explorer.
The company also employed a range of sought-after vintage amplifiers and bespoke effects pedals, as well as mixing traditional playing techniques with the use of EBows and violin bows. Some samples have been left as they were captured, whilst others have undergone extensive processing in order to create new and interesting sounds.
Guitar Odyssey's Modulation panelUsers can load up to four sounds in a single patch, with each layer equipped with eight dedicated effects slots that allow the sample to be treated with over 40 built-in processors that include delay, compression, EQ and much more.
The library’s modulation capabilities are vast: there are 17 modulation sources which can be assigned to over 7000 unique parameters, allowing for extensive sound design possibilities. Guitar Odyssey also features the company’s Motion Engine, which is equipped with Circuit and Sequence modes that offer a wide variety of pattern and rhythm creation possibilities.
