ALM/Busy Circuits have just announced the launch of a new Eurorack module that allows users to record multitracks directly from their modular rig without the need for any external equipment. The Stem Ripper features eight front-panel inputs, each of which can be recorded straight to an SD card as individual tracks.
All signals are captured as time-stamped multi-channel 16-bit / 44.1kHz WAV file, with recording time limited only by the card size — a 64GB card is included with the module, and sizes of up to 1TB are supported. In addition to the multitracks, the WAV file also contains two additional tracks that contain a configurable stereo mixdown of the eight input sources. Alongside the main module, ALM/Busy Circuits are also offering an optional 2HP Thru Expander module that duplicates the eight inputs onto a row of unbuffered outputs, allowing users to pass them back into their system without the need to stack patch cables.
