Alto introduce the TMD16

New compact 16-channel digital mixer revealed

Alto TMD16 compact digital mixer

Aimed at houses of worship, small venues, rehearsal spaces, presentations and live streaming performances, Alto’s new digital console promises to deliver professional functionality in an accessible format that the company say makes professional audio engineering approachable for everyday users without sacrificing power or functionality.

The TMD16 is a compact unit that offers a hands-on approach to mixing thanks to seven 100mm capacitive touch faders with 18-segment LED indicators, a seven-inch colour display screen and 10 dedicated push-button encoders. It features 16 inputs — there are 10 mic preamps and a selection of line-level inputs — and 12 analogue line-level outputs. Every input and output benefits from parametric EQ and compression, while a built-in effects engine includes a collection of reverb, delay and chorus effects. As you’d expect from a digital console, the TMD16 is equipped with a comprehensive routing system and offers full recall.

"The TMD16 addresses a real need in the market for a professional digital mixing console that doesn't require an audio engineering degree to operate. If you've been running an analogue mixer and wondering when it makes sense to go digital, this is it. The TMD16 gives you that same hands-on, tactile workflow you're used to, plus powerful built-in effects and routing that would cost thousands to add to an analogue board. Whether you're running sound for a worship service, managing a small venue or streaming live performances, the TMD16 delivers a familiar, affordable upgrade path to digital without the learning curve or the hefty price tag." - John Boudreau, Director of Product Development, Alto Professional
