The latest instrument from software company Sub51 is called Beyond Guitar, and it combines guitar samples with extensive processing to create sounds that are “far removed from their six-string origins”.
Available in both Kontakt (full version, 6.5.3 or higher) and Logic Sampler X formats, Beyond Guitar offers a range of sounds covering pads, loops, one-shot percussive sounds, effects and more, all achieved, say Sub51, with synthesis and sound design techniques. Thanks to Apple's and NI's powerful sample engines, the user can apply their own twist to sounds too — via comprehensive envelope, filter and effects adjustment in Kontakt, or filter, modulation and envelope controls in Sampler X.
Beyond Guitar requires just under 1GB of hard-drive space, and is available to download now for the introductory price of £14.96 (£19.95 if purchased after 2nd June). Check out the video below to hear it in action.
