ENGL amp simulators for UAD2 and Apollo Brainworx, the German software developers behind such plug-ins as bx_saturator (reviewed July 2012) and the free bx_solo and bx_cleansweep, have teamed up with ENGL for their latest product. The ENGL Amplifier plug-in bundle aims to recreate the sound of the E765RT and E646VS amplifiers on the UAD2 and Apollo platforms.
Also included in the bundle is the Brainworx bx_tuner plug-in which permits the user to easily tune guitars and basses. All three plug-ins can be bought separately, $149 each for the amps and $19 for the tuner, otherwise the bundle costs $249 from Universal Audio.
