The LXR Drum Module by Erica Synths is a compact percussion synthesizer, based on the sound engine of the LXR-02 Drum Machine reviewed by SOS in April 2022. A collaboration between Erica Synths and Sonic Potions, the new LXR Drum Module has assignable CV control to be used in Eurorack systems.
The LXR Drum Module retains the six-voice drum synthesis engine from the LXR-02 but does not include a sequencer. The module has seven trigger inputs with accents, five assignable CV inputs, and four assignable outputs for substantial Eurorack integration. Three of the six synthesizer voices can also be used as basslines thanks to the 1V/octave tuning capabilities.
With over 30 individual parameters per voice that can be adjusted and controlled via CV control, a section to run insert effects and a kit memory for saving patches, synthesis with the LXR Drum Module is deep and precise. The kits are all compatible with the LXR-02, and the LXR Drum Module even includes an SD card for transferring kits and easy firmware updates.
