New distortions, Parameter Morphing, EQs & more
Kemper have announced that their compact amp and effects modeller has received a free software update that introduces a whole host of powerful new features. With the release of Profiler OS 12.1 (currently in the public beta phase), the Profiler Player gains some new distortion models, a real-time Parameter Morphing function, new output EQ options and an additional stereo output.
What’s New?
With the latest version of its operating system installed, the Profiler Player boasts the following new features:
- New Drives and Distortions: The Profiler Player features all the modelled famous vintage guitar overdrive, and distortion pedals from its big brothers -- Green Scream, Plus DS, One DS, Muffin, Mouse, Full OC and Metal DS. These are all inspired by legendary units such as the Tube Screamer, Distortion +, DS-1, Big Muff, OCD, Metal Zone and the Rat.
- Morphing: The unit now features Kemper’s acclaimed Parameter Morphing, allowing users to seamlessly blend between settings via a pedal or button.
- Output EQs: Two dedicated four-band output EQs are now available for the device’s Main Output and Monitor Output.
- Additional Stereo Output: The balanced Main Output can now be transformed into an unbalanced stereo output, adding a third analogue stereo output. Now, players can run a Full-Range signal simultaneously to FOH while running either one or two fully supported Kemper Kabinets, powered stereo full-range cabinets or even regular guitar cabinets for personal monitoring.
Pricing & Availability
The latest version of the Profiler Player’s software is available for free on the Kemper website. The unit itself is priced at $€699.
